Advanced Placement (AP) programs offer university-level classes and exams to high school students. The goal is to experience and succeed in post-secondary level work while still attending high school. The course work in a given subject is generally equivalent to a first-year university course. As a result, a student who achieves a score of 4 or 5 out of 5 is usually permitted to skip the corresponding course as a first year student in university.
“AP” on your high school application signals you are motivated to challenge yourself and achieve success.
Your AP score can earn you university credits before you begin your post-secondary studies.
Earning credit can open time on your schedule or even let you graduate early.
AP courses and exams cover content for grades 11, 12, and first year university. The content is designed to challenge the students to pursue higher level knowledge than is normally learned in high school.
