A passion for learning is something that was always driven me in life whether as a student or a teacher. As an educator, I firmly believe in learning alongside with my students and to encourage them to be lifelong learners as well. I chose to become a teacher due to my love for the profession as it gives me to opportunity to develop students’ academic skills and their personal growth as individuals. My passion for teaching English and History at the Intermediate/Senior level has allowed me to invite critical questions for students to consider and become advocates for social justice and change.

As a recent graduate from the Faculty of Education as an undergraduate student, I have learned the importance of social justice, diversity and inclusion in the classroom space. Learning about these issues in the space of schooling inspired me to pursue further educational studies at the Graduate level and to conduct research on student belonging, representation, and identity in formal education. I believe this has further equipped me to become a reflective and reflexive educator for my students. It is a great honour and privilege to not only be a teacher but a mentor and role model for my learners.
