Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve enjoyed language. I was the kid in the class who wanted to read over all the other kids’ essays and check for grammar and punctuation mistakes.
After I graduated university, I quickly realized my passion was teaching. I travelled abroad to kick-start my teaching experience, and get an incredible opportunity to visit a completely different culture and language. As an adult, I greatly enjoyed learning another language. It further fuelled my dual passions of learning and language.
Moving from a teaching to a leadership role has allowed me to seek out and engage others who share my enthusiasm for education. But, it also allowed me to share in the thrill of students achieving their goals. Sometimes, I think I’m actually more excited than the students themselves when they achieve success.
There are infinite pathways to success, and each student needs to find the correct one, and pursue it with vigor. Our role here is to support that pursuit in any and every way we possibly can. It is the only way I know how to be an educator.
